When shouldn’t I order consent bands from Consentbands.com?

Consentbands.com’s €1 universal-design wristbands are right for many events, but not all. When is it not right for you?

  • If you don’t intend to punish consent violations. Let’s be frank: A wristband doesn’t stop abuse. You have to have clear rules and the willingness to enforce them, for rules without enforcement are meaningless. If this is just a “feel-good” gesture for you, leave us out of it.
  • If they don’t need to be reusable. By far the cheapest solution is to simply use blank, disposable Tyvek bands, widely available for about €0,10 each. I experimented with Tyvek bands but ultimately felt better about the reusable silicone solution: They’re nice keepsakes and better for the environment. (Fun variations like plantable seed paper bands cost even more than silicone bands.)
  • If you want to place a big order and can handle the process yourself. You’ll have more control, but you’ll only save money if you order more than 250 bands per colour. (We manage custom orders starting at 500 bpc.)

On another note: I fully expect others to sell similar bands if the concept takes off (as I hope). And that’s great! The more people adopt the wristband system for consent, the more it’ll be recognised in society.

We work hard to make consentbands available to everyone who wants them. That’s more important than whether we get your euro.
